Funding for socio-economic sciences and humanities R&D
If you are an organisation involved in socio-economic sciences and humanities or in research for the benefit of specific groups – businesses and Civil Society Organisations (CSO) this funding could be for you.
FP7 funding for this theme is aimed at assessing socio-economic challenges in Europe by addressing problems common to businesses and CSOs. Areas of focus include:
- growth
- competitiveness
- the knowledge economy
- social cohesion
- urban and sustainable development.
Of the €610m dedicated to this funding stream, the share going to businesses is expected to be at least €90m.
Small and medium-scale collaborative projects can access up to €2.7m in grants, whereas projects dedicated to international cooperation are eligible for up to €3m. Research for the benefit of CSOs are entitled to a maximum of €1m. Regarding coordination and support actions, the amount requested must not exceed the budget allocated for each of the four activities described in the work programme.
All projects have to be transnational and so you are required to work in partnership with other companies or research institutes based elsewhere in the EU.
