Environment research and development

If you are a high-tech business involved in environment-related research this funding could be for you. FP7 funding for this sector promotes the sustainable management of both man-made and natural environments and their resources.

Increased knowledge on the interaction between climate, biosphere, ecosystems and human activities is sought as well as the development of new environment-friendly technologies, tools and services.

A total of €1.9bn is dedicated to this funding stream and the involvement of businesses is encouraged.

Typically projects can access up to €3m from the EU, and businesses can finance up to 75% of their R&D costs and 100% of their management costs.

All projects must be transnational, and so you are required to work in partnership with other companies or research institutes based elsewhere in the EU.
