Spotlight on doing business in Albania
Despite being known as an isolated country and underdeveloped economy, Albania represents large potential for British companies wishing to do business there. Strategically located in the Western Balkans, its average GDP growth has reached six per cent in the past 18 years.
Despite the current worldwide recession, international institutions are still forecasting GDP growth of 1.2 per cent this year. Moreover, in the latest survey on business climate Albania ranked 86th out of 181 economies worldwide; highest of all markets in the Balkans.
British companies can find export and investment opportunities especially in infrastructure, construction, energy, tourism and mining sectors.
