Spotlight on: European innovation policy
The European Strategy for Growth and Jobs has put innovation at its core. Yet shortcomings in the uptake of new technologies, deficiencies in current legislation, complex organisation of funding programmes and incoherence of the various support schemes continue to significantly hinder innovation.
By Spring 2010 the European Commission intends to propose a European Innovation Act to simplify the existing framework and pave the way for a renewed boom in innovation across Europe. The Commission is therefore gathering feedback on perceived deficiencies in current innovation policy and funding schemes (primarily from SMEs).
If your company is based in London, has experience with EU innovation funding and policy and you are interested in participating in this feedback opportunity, please get in touch with the London Innovation Network team at europe@londonchamber.co.uk / 020 7203 1924.
