Doing business in Europe: spotlight on Poland
With a population reaching almost 40 million and GDP growth at 4.8 per cent in 2008, Poland represents the biggest market in central and eastern Europe and has great potential for growth. It benefits from an excellent geographical location, a well-educated labour force and a stable and strong economy.
As the largest recipient of EU funding in the region and with the European Football Championship in 2012, Poland is expected to boost investment in infrastructure, hospitality and related services.
Trade between Poland and the UK has grown quickly and in 2008, the UK was Poland's fourth largest trading partner, with most opportunities found in advanced engineering, security, education & training, science and agriculture. Find out more about Poland by downloading the country profile and by attending our seminar "Poland: a strong economy with high potential" on 20th October.
