FP7 Funding calls

There are 5 open calls for proposals under the Seventh Framework Programme, (FP7). This programme supports collaborative projects which focus on research and development in the following subject areas:

Energy

Energy 2012- 1 stage- €3M available
Energy 2012- 2 stage- €138M available

The Energy 2012 call aims to make current energy systems more sustainaible, less dependent on imported fuels and based on a more diverse range of energy sources.

Projects should enhance energy efficiency, rationalising the use and storage of energy. They should also address the challenges of climate change, supplying energy securely and increasing the competitiveness of Europe’s industries.

Deadline: 25 October 2011 for both deadlines.

Transport

The FP7 Transport and Aeronautics Fund aims to develop integrated, safer, “greener” and “smarter” pan-European transport systems for the benefit of all citizens.

It also aims to secure and develop the competitiveness attained by European industries in the global market.

Deadline: 25th October 2011

Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies

The NMP funding call aims at providing strong support to SME participation by using SME-targeted collaborative projects and appropriate topics. €48M will be available.

Deadline: 8th November 2011

Research for the benefit of SMEs

Research for SMEs aims to support small groups of innovative SMEs to address technological issues and to acquire know-how relating to this.

Competition

Assessing State aid for films and other audiovisual works

This will open in a new window Read the EC consultation
The Commission had carried out an extensive study into the economic and cultural impact of territorial spending obligations imposed in film support schemes. The Commission should complete a review of the Communication by the end of 2012, taking these developments into account.

Environment

EU air quality legislation

This will open in a new window Read the EC consultation
The aim of the consultation is to gather views and information on the strength and weaknesses of EU air quality legislation, in particular as regards Directive 2008/50/EC on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe and Directive 2004/107/EC relating to arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polyaromatic hydrocarbons in ambient air.

This consultation seeks to collect opinions on EU strategy and options for reducing CO2 emissions from road vehicles.

Health

Implementing measures for the performance of pharmacovigilance activities

This will open in a new window EC consultation
Public consultation on a concept paper on implementing measures for the performance of pharmacovigilance activities.

Public consultation on the health effects of artificial light

This will open in a new window EC consultation
The European Commission has requested the Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) to prepare an opinion on the health effects of artificial light .

Internal Market

Green Paper on the online distribution of audiovisual works in the European Union: opportunities and challenges towards a digital single market

This will open in a new window EC consultation
The Green Paper looks at the ways in which the audiovisual sector is changing in response to technology developments and consumer expectations. It invites stakeholders to comment on the challenges and opportunities facing audiovisual media service providers, and in particular whether the regulatory and legal framework poses barriers to the cross border availability of online services in the EU.

Research and innovation

Areas of untapped potential for the development of the European Research Area

This will open in a new window EC Consultation
The Heads of State and Government of the European Union have called to address remaining gaps for the achievement of the European Research Area rapidly in order to complete the ERA by 2014 to create a genuine single market for knowledge, research and innovation.
