FP7 Funding calls

There are 51 New open calls for proposals under the Seventh Framework Programme, FP7. This programme supports collaborative projects aiming at research and development in the following subject areas:

• Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and Biotechnology ( 5 Calls)
• Health (3 calls)
• Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) (8 calls)
• Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies (12 calls)
• Energy (8 calls)
• Environment (including Climate Change) (8 calls)
• Transport (including Aeronautics) (9 calls)
• Socio-Economic Sciences and the Humanities (4 calls)
• Space (1 call)
• Security (1 call)
• General (1 call)

Environment

The fourth LIFE+ call for proposals was published on 4th May 2010, with up to €243 million available for co-financing of projects under three headings: nature and biodiversity; environment policy and governance; and information and communication.

Proposal deadlines: Proposals are due by 1st September 2010

Eco-innovation call supports Eco-innovative projects in different sectors which aim at the prevention or reduction of environmental impacts or which contribute to the optimal use of resources.

Proposal deadlines: Applications for proposals must be submitted by 9th September 2010.

Shell Springboard is offering a financial boost of up to £40,000 for a small number of UK businesses who submit the most compelling plans for a product or service which helps combat climate change.

Proposal deadlines: Applications for proposals must be submitted by 5th November 2010.

Energy

The EUROGIA+ fifth call for proposals is extending an invitation to Europe’s high technology industry, small and medium sized enterprises, research institutes and academics to participate in its fifth Call for project proposals.

Proposal deadlines: proposals are due by 2nd September 2010.

Media

The Media Mundus Programme supports cooperation projects between European professionals and professionals from third countries, to the mutual benefit of the European audiovisual sector and that of third countries.

Proposal deadlines: proposals are due by 15th October 2010.

Transportation

Trans-European Transport Network for 2010 supports increases in transport efficiency and encourages private sector investment in this industry.

Proposal deadlines: proposals are due by 3rd August 2010.

Definition of “Nanomaterial” EC consultation The objective of the consultation is to seek advice on the essential elements of a science-based working definition of “nanomaterials” and to identify the most appropriate metrics to define materials at nanoscale.
