FP7 Funding calls

There are 11 open calls for proposals under the Seventh Framework Programme, (FP7). This programme supports collaborative projects which focus on research and development in the following subject areas:

  • Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and Biotechnology
  • Health
  • Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
  • Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies
  • Energy
  • Transport (including Aeronautics)

Research and Development

Research and development grant: Pre start-ups, start-ups, and small and medium-sized businesses from all sectors across the UK may apply to the Grant for R&D programme. 3 types of grant are available including a Proof of market grant, Proof of concept grant and Development of prototype grant.

Deadline: 7 July 2011

Digital and Creative Industries

Tech City Launchpad 1 – The Technology Strategy Board is investing up to £1m in innovative digital projects with a focus on the ‘tech city’ around Old Street and Shoreditch in East London. Companies will have the opportunity to apply for funding of up to £100,000 for their projects. The competition is open to UK digital and creative companies and will be developed within the Tech City area.

Deadline: 26 May 2011

Media

Media 2007: Training provides funding for audiovisual companies who focus on developing expertise in economic, financial and commercial management, new audiovisual technologies and script project development.

Proposal deadlines: 15 June 2011

The MEDIA 2007: Programme of support for the European audiovisual sector can part-finance the insurance and completion guarantee costs incurred in the making of audiovisual works, such as films and/or access bank financing for production costs.

Deadline: 6 June 2011

Enterprise and Industry

European Alliances for Mobile and Mobility Industries and Creative Industries funds two actions aimed at increasing innovation in both the Mobile and Mobility Industries and Creative Industries.

Proposal deadlines: 24 June 2011

Transport

The Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative has launched its 9th call for proposals. This covers 23 topics with a total of 12.7 million Euros available for funding. Topics are from 6 ITDs. Its mission is to develop breakthrough technologies to significantly increase the environmental performance of airplanes and air transport.

Transport: Strategic Transport Technology Plan

This will open in a new window EC consultation
The Europe 2020 Strategy includes the "Resource efficient Europe" flagship initiative, under which the European Commission will present proposals to modernise the transport sector and thereby contributing to increasing competitiveness and lowering emissions. The Commission intends to issue the STTP to present the technology areas where it pays for those involved in transport to work together. The Commission invites you to contribute to the preparation of the STTP by responding to this questionnaire.

Enterprise: Public consultation on the revision of the Personal Protective Equipment Directive 89/686/EEC

The main objective of this public consultation launched by DG Enterprise and Industry is to ask the views and opinions of citizens and stakeholders on the various issues that may need to be addressed in a draft proposal for the revision of the Personal Protective Equipment Directive 89/686/EEC.

E-VIEW project partners are developing and piloting a European Virtual Campus aimed at learners in the work place which will focus on enhancing their management skills and competences within a European context. More information can be found at: http://www.e-view-project.eu.
